How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

1. About this policy

This policy explains how TutorialsPoint India Private Limited ("Tutorix", "we", "us") collects and uses personal information when you use Tutorix AI Tutor at ai.tutorix.com, on www.tutorix.com or in the Tutorix app. By using Tutorix, you agree to this policy.

2. What we collect

  • Account details: name, email address, mobile number, class, board and, if given, school.
  • Learning activity: lessons taken, questions asked, answers, tests, scores and progress.
  • Face login: face login uses your device's own face recognition. The check happens on your device; we never receive or store your face image or face data.
  • Voice and uploads: when a student uses voice features, their speech is converted to text; images or files a student uploads are processed to answer or check their work.
  • Device and usage data: device and browser type, IP address, and how the Service is used, including through cookies and analytics tools.
  • Payments: payments are handled by our payment gateway. We do not store card or bank details.

3. How we use it

We use this information to run and personalise the Service, give feedback and progress reports to students and parents, answer support requests, keep accounts secure (including one device at a time), improve Tutorix, meet legal requirements, and contact you by email, SMS, phone or WhatsApp about your account and study progress. Offers are sent only to the parent or to adult users.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted providers that help us run the Service, such as hosting and cloud services, AI and speech providers, the payment gateway and messaging services, and only for that purpose. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of users and Tutorix.

5. Children

Students under 18 may use Tutorix only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian can ask to see, correct or delete the student's information at any time (see Data Deletion below). We do not use a student's information for targeted advertising.

6. Storage and security

Information may be stored and processed on servers in India or other countries used by our service providers. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it, but no online system is completely secure. Keep your login private and tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active and as long as needed to provide the Service. Some records, such as payment and invoice details, are kept for as long as the law requires.

8. Your rights

  • You can see and update your profile details in your account, or ask us for a summary of the information we hold about you.
  • You can ask us to correct or delete your information (see Data Deletion below).
  • You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us. We will then stop using your information, which also means we can no longer provide the Service to you.
  • You can opt out of promotional messages by writing to contact@tutorix.com.

9. Data Deletion

You can ask us to delete your account and the personal information associated with it at any time. This includes your profile details (name, email address, mobile number, school, class and board), your learning and test history, and the mobile number we use to send you WhatsApp notifications.

How to request deletion:

  • Send an email to contact@tutorix.com with the subject "Delete my data", from the email address or with the mobile number registered with your Tutorix account.
  • We may ask you to confirm the request so that we can verify it is your account.
  • Once verified, we will delete your personal information and confirm the deletion to you by email.

We may keep certain records, such as payment and invoice details, where the law requires us to retain them. These records are not used for any other purpose.

WhatsApp notifications: To stop receiving study reports and other WhatsApp messages from Tutorix without deleting your account, turn off notifications in the app under Profile › Academic Information, or email contact@tutorix.com.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; the updated version applies from the date it is posted here. If you continue to use Tutorix after an update, you accept the updated policy.

11. Grievances and contact

For any question or complaint about your personal information, write to our Grievance Officer, Manish Dandotikar (HR Head), at contact@tutorix.com. We will acknowledge it within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
